Warranty on prosthetics.

Removable prosthetic restorations are a proven and still very important solution in modern dentistry. They can be used as both definitive treatment and a transitional stage before more advanced restoration. However, the key to success is not only the fabrication of the prosthesis itself but also the completeness of the restoration, proper fit, hygiene, check-ups, and individual recommendations.

Important :
Prosthetic treatment results are covered by warranty only in the case of completing the full treatment plan; in particular, it is necessary to complete the full restoration of both dental arches (completeness condition). The performance of an incomplete prosthetic restoration occurs in exceptional cases, most often at the express request of the Patient and at their own responsibility.

Warranty terms for prosthetic restorations

The complaint procedure and statutory warranty terms are described in Chapter 6 of the regulations for the provision of services of the Rycerska 4 Medical Center in Bytom. Below, we discuss and, if necessary, explain its specific provisions. Under certain conditions discussed below, the statutory warranty for prosthetic work is 12 months.

  1. Complaints regarding the provision of Services should be submitted by the Patient in writing or sent via e-mail to: biuro@rycerska4.pl immediately after the Patient discovers any irregularity.
  2. To ensure efficient processing of the complaint, the complaint submitted by the Patient should contain at least:
details of the person submitting the complaint:

    • first name, last name, phone number;
    • information about the Service that was performed;
    • the subject of the submission and complaint.

Important
The complaint must be in writing and clearly specify who is making the claim, what the claims are, and the basis for those claims. Complaints submitted in a form other than in writing (i.e., submitted in person, by email, or by traditional mail) will not be considered. To complaints made via SMS, instant messengers, or orally, we will only respond by indicating the proper procedure.

  1. Regardless of the above, the Patient is obliged to appear in person at the Facility on the date indicated by Rycerska 4 Medical Center to enable Rycerska 4 Medical Center staff to verify the validity of the objections raised by the Patient, if, in the assessment of Rycerska 4 Medical Center, such a visit proves necessary in a given case for the purpose of assessing the validity of the submitted complaint.

Important
After submitting a written complaint, the Patient must physically present the subject of the complaint to a doctor at C.M. Rycerska 4. Only then will it be possible to assess the validity of the claim and process the complaint. Complaints will not be considered if the Patient is unable to present the prosthetic work being complained about.

  1. Complaints will be processed within 14 business days from the date of submission or, respectively, from the date of the visit referred to in point 3 above.
  2. The Patient will be informed of the decision in writing or by e-mail to the e-mail address specified in the complaint.
  3. Prosthetic works that were subject to trials and fittings concluded without remarks, which was confirmed by the Patient and recorded in the medical documentation, are not subject to returns, exchanges, or price reductions.

Important
Prosthetic work is a custom-made item for a specific individual. During trials and fittings, the Patient has every right to raise justified remarks. If at this stage all justified remarks of the Patient have been considered and included, and the resulting effect has been accepted by the Patient, the work has been finally personalized and completed, which means it is consistent with the Patient's expectations presented during the performance of this work. Any subsequent change of these expectations in no way entitles to a refund, exchange, or demand for a price reduction for the work performed.

  1. Services provided by Rycerska 4 Medical Center are covered by a 12-month statutory warranty for defects inherent in the materials used or the manufacturing method.
  2. The conditions for maintaining the statutory warranty are:
    • implementation of a full treatment plan,
    • compliance with hygiene instructions,
    • attending follow-up and preventive visits at Rycerska 4 Medical Center at least every six months.
  3. The statutory warranty does not cover:
    • temporary works,
    • services with an exclusion of the statutory warranty agreed with the Patient,
    • damage caused by use inconsistent with the instructions,
    • mechanical damage,
    • periodontal diseases,
    • bruxism
  4. The statutory warranty does not apply to undesirable effects that are complications of treatment performed in accordance with medical standards.
  5. Prosthetic works are covered by a 12-month guarantee provided that:
    • Full restoration of both dental arches (completeness condition) in accordance with point 8.a above.
    • Using them in accordance with their intended purpose and the doctor's instructions (use condition)
    • Attending a free check-up/adjustment visit no later than 4 weeks after the delivery of the finished work (fit condition)
    • Attending follow-up visits at intervals not exceeding 6 months, starting from the adjustment visit (follow-up condition).
    • Refraining from making independent repairs.

Important
Liability of C.M.Rycerska 4 for the performed prosthetic work applies only if it shows no signs of interference by third parties, was performed in accordance with all medical recommendations (prosthetic treatment plan), and was and continues to be used according to those recommendations. This primarily concerns the obligation of adjustments and check-ups at an early stage of using the prosthesis, as well as subsequent follow-up visits at least every 6 months.

  1. Claims under the statutory warranty must be reported immediately upon discovery, but no later than 10 business days from that fact.

What should you avoid doing to maintain the warranty on your denture?

  • do not clean the prosthesis with aggressive agents or boiling water,
  • file down the prosthesis yourself,
  • use random adhesives or home repair methods,
  • postpone visits when abrasions occur,
  • ignore a wobbling prosthesis,
  • skip follow-ups just because it is "bearable."

What should you remember when using a denture?

A prosthesis is only part of the treatment. The tissues beneath it also require care. Gentle gum massage, mucosal hygiene, and regular check-ups help reduce the risk of inflammation, fungal infections, and painful pressure sores.

When to seek an urgent follow-up?

Schedule an appointment as soon as possible if the following occur:

  • pain lasting longer than a few days,
  • ulcers or small wounds,
  • prosthesis movement,
  • cracking or damage to the restoration,
  • difficulty eating despite the adaptation period,
  • unpleasant odor or symptoms of inflammation.

Well-fitted prostheses Bytom are not just a matter of fabrication, but also follow-ups and potential adjustments during use.

How long does it take to get used to the prosthesis?

Adaptation is individual. In some patients it takes a few days, in others several weeks. At the beginning, the following may occur:

  • foreign body sensation,
  • increased salivation,
  • minor speech difficulties,
  • discomfort when biting harder foods,
  • local abrasions.

This is usually a natural stage. However, it is crucial not to "wait out" the pain for many weeks. If the denture exerts pressure, causes sores, or visibly shifts, a check-up and potential professional adjustment are necessary. Failure to get used to the denture is not a basis for a complaint.
